Jason Arday was a young black academic prodigy who rose to a professorship at Cambridge. He was accused of plagiarism - amid a litany of other accusations. He was investigated, formally cleared, and then investigated again - four times in all, and each investigation failed to substantiate the allegations. He was hounded to resignation, and even beyond that - he was found dead not long after, in a death widely reported as suicide. The campaign against him did not stop at his death, and is still ongoing in the flame wars of the internet, where he and his achievements are mocked by the openly racist "far right" and its rabid accolytes.
