A Transphobic Transperson? How Does That Even Work?

*Ahem*

So this PM comes courtesy of a person who, unlike most of you here on FB, I have met in real life and knew personally. Let me regail you:

He's a local, living in the same city. He's a transman I met, probably well over 10 years ago now.

Let's call him "Matthew".

This morning he shared a photo of Mango Musselini posing heroically against a fluttering backdrop of the American flag, with "Trump for life" emblazoned across it.

I commented to ask him if he'd been hacked. If he'd lost his mind.

I questioned whether he realized what Trump had been doing to transgender people in the US - and what Trump would be doing to him if he lived in the US right now.

This is his reply - ALL SHOUTY IN CRAPITAL LETTERS - and a block. Well, at least he saved me the trouble.

I still decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, in case he had been hacked

"Extremely uncalled for"? Really? He shared it publicly. If you don't want to attract criticism, don't post stupid shit in public. It's that simple - it's not rocket science.

Besides, he completely overreacted. All I did was ask if he'd been hacked and whether he knew what it was he was supporting.

It's not as if he shared a photo of a kitten and didn't invite controversy. Besides, what kind of trangender person idolizes a transphobe? Does he still idolize Rowling too?

I didn't even point out how stupid, monstrous and self-deprecating it made him look. I mean, who idolizes a person who hates you and has been working to destroy people just like you in that country?

An idiot, to be sure.

"WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!!!!" He shrieked.

I know who I am, Matt - a transwoman, who would be living like a criminal and fearing being herded into a concentration camp if I were in the USA right now - just like he would be. I know this well enough - which is more than can be said of him.

In fact, I'd say Matt needs to ask himself that question, while staring deep into his eyes in the mirror to see if he can answer without blinking.

"Go screw a cow!!!" he says. Couldn't he even tell me to "fuck off" like an adult?  And the rows of exclamation marks - OMW. Very mature. Quite typical of the sort of scum that idolize criminals, rapists, fascists and neo-Nazis.

Idolizing a monster who would have you forced out of your job, forced to go pee in the women's toilet, you and your contributions to society erased, and treated like a criminal just for existing - is, well... not a sign of much intelligence, is it? Even if you're not in that country, it shows a lack of awareness and a lack of empathy for other people just like you who are having a miserable time over there - and it is only likely to get worse. How does someone get to be so disconnected from reality - and their own humanity?

"TRUMP FOR LIFE!!!!!" he raves, in a parting shot. Would that be his life, or yours?

What kind of human being idolizes a misogynist and rapist? What kind of transman would? That part really is the crowning mindfuck as far as I'm concerned. Frankly, I'd say that's a red flag right there - and any girl should be wary of someone proudly waving red flags like that.

It's really disturbing when someone you've met, and even liked, turns out to be so internally transphobic and homophobic that they hate other people just like themselves - and act out that hate by showing public support for a monstrous bottom-feeding greaseball like Donald fucking Trump.

It's another reason on the pile, of why I have less and less faith in the humanity of humanity, each passing day.

A transphobic transperson? Make that fucking make sense! You just can't. It doesn't. Non sequitur.

Sadly, some people really are just too motherfuckin' stupid for their own good.

On the bright side, there's one less goddamn trumpanzee on my Facebook feed - so, win-win.
