Bigotry & Transphobia Stirs In South Africa - Again!

What really grated my carrot this week was part of the public reaction to the news that a transwoman had entered that archaic relic of the patriarchy which shamelessly puts women on show like cattle, the Miss South Africa contest!

It seems that as soon as things are nice and quiet and the bigots have stopped shouting for a little while, something happens to spark them off again - soon as they've more-or-less recovered from the disappointment that expressing racism and using the "k-word" in public gets people in trouble - the Karens come out screeching about how transgender people are somehow unfairly competing against them in x, y or z public domains and spaces, that "he-shes" don't belong in women's competitions (or in fact anywhere), and even that "god" created male and female, and apparently "doesn't make mistakes"!

This sort of idiotic Neanderthal mindset makes me bristle - so much so that it inspired my first LGBT activism-related article in quite some time!

So the news in question was that a local transwoman (a lady from PE called Zoe) is entering the Miss South Africa contest. It was in the Herald on Thursday morning, and by late afternoon every right wing lunatic bigot, transphobic halfwit and pious religious wanker who knows fuck-all about science, gender or what transwomen - and especially transwomen of color - endure in this country (or everywhere else) on a daily basis, started making an effort to vent their unintelligible hysterical bile in public. 

Just what is your malfunction, dipshits?

You're just like the useless idiots I encountered during and after my own transition 22 years ago. I had to put up with shallow, ignorant, inflexible asshats of low intelligence in the workplace, in religious groups and in public who misgendered me, verbally abused me, impugned my dignity, undermined my humanity and even threatened my life. I've faced religious fanatic political activists who campaigned to have people like me eradicated by the state, the religious lunatics who mocked, denied and discredited medical science for both explaining my existence as well as justifying it, the fuckwits who demanded I be punished and excluded from everything everywhere for existing - altogether working to dehumanize transpeople and to push us out of every crevice, nook or cranny where we could find acceptance!

A transwoman is entering Miss SA - clearly the world has gone mad and the "end of days" is nigh!

You sound like a bunch of mad cows mooing, you herd of unbelievable, dizzy, egotistical, delusional pillocks - or like frenzied hens flocking to peck a bleeding sister to death! And you do so because you not only don't know any better - you remorselessly refuse to allow yourself to know better, which is worse! Do you feel proud of yourselves?

You want to know why Zoe is entering? Not just because she can, or because she wants to... not to be "a man entering a women's competition", but because of arrogant, stupid, bullying idiots like you who seem incapable of letting go of the age old lie that gender is determined by a person's genitalia, or grasping the fact that transwomen are women.

So now you're having a public meltdown because a transwoman is entering the contest in spite of your disgusting bigotry, in the face of your appalling ignorance, rising to beat the challenge of your arrogant hypocrisy and your wishes to bully, exclude, crush, obliterate and erase her - along with all the rest of us.

Good for her. Good luck to her, I say - even though I despise "beauty pageants" for their misogyny, their shallowness and for demeaning and exploiting women as nothing else than the ideal sex-object for men, I hope she wins... and to hell with all you scumbag narcissistic TERFs, misogynists, homophobes, transphobes and religious terrorists for raining on her parade!

Why should a transwoman competing in Miss SA upset anyone in SA? How many of those bellyaching whiners complaining that including transwomen is somehow spoiling an essentially pointless contest can name even ten of the most recent winners without doing an extensive Google search? Why should anyone even care? How does it affect them personally? How does it affect you? Does it take anything at all away from you - other than the entitlement you previously had to feel "better" than transgender people?

You're not victims. Nobody's debating your nature, mocking or undermining your right to exist, invalidating the premise for your inclusion or acceptance or rejecting your worth to society, or considering how the law does or should apply to you, opining whether or not you should be killed, fired, evicted or excluded for daring to exist - or how religious bullshit fantasy "laws" conspire to send you to some fictional hell or mean you're supposed to be a rotten person.

No, but that's what you do when you see us.

You're not being persecuted. Nothing's being taken away from you. You're the ones doing the persecuting - you're nothing more than pouting, foot stamping psychopathic narcissistic schoolyard bullies. 

You disgust me.😡 Bunch of fucking Karens.
