Doubling Down On Stupidity Doesn't Make It Any Less Stupid

The J.K. Rowling saga has been going on for quite a while now, since last year if memory serves. Just this past week however, Ms. Rowling appears to have unseated several silly internet meme trends and other media red herrings to take the top-spot in my Facebook and Twitter feed.

Rowling has come under fire - and rightly so - for not just supporting TERFs via her Twitter account, but likewise, regurgitating patently ignorant TERF nonsense - attacking the validity of transgender people, and also their acceptance as women.

Bookinistika: eBook Piracy Website With An Attitude

This morning I was alerted by a post in one of the writers groups I belong to on Facebook - about a website that's been ripping off dozens of authors by selling their books from their website without due process or authorization, and keeping the profits for themselves. The name of the website - Bookinistika.

I decided to hop along and check their website out, and to see if there were any of mine up there. I wasn't to be disappointed.

Make Earth Greta Again!

Greta Thunberg. Her very name seems to bring chills to both boomers and conservatives alike, doesn't it?

That, and as far as I can tell, stupid people.

People too limited in their intellect to realize what an awful mess we're really in - and slipping deeper into day by day... a mess created by previous generations - but mostly one in particular, who grew up in a post WW2 world of hope and plenty, and indulged - and bulged in excess of everything.

That's the trouble with a consumerist mindset - sooner or later there's nothing left to consume.

Galaxii – An Unintended History of The Present?

Looking back, it doesn't seem all that long ago that I first started writing my Galaxii scifi series. As it turns out, that was back in 1991 - my final year of high school - when I first started writing the backstory of Galaxii. It was futuristic, it was distantly post-apocalyptic, that is, it was set about a century after a devastating war... World War 3... The Big Nuke.

The year of that war? 2020.
